Suggestions regarding Security Certification
clausEIRE
Hi all,
I have been working in a Cyber security company for less than a year, mainly I am providing tech support to company customers but I don't feel 100% comfortable regarding my general knowledge of security.
I have a CCNA and MCSA Certification and I would like now to study for a new security certification.
Can anyone suggest any security fundamental certification? something that gives me first the basics of IT security without having years of experience.
Thank you!

Sec+ or SSCP

What do you provide support for? Cisco? If you provide support for Cisco then CCNA:Security makes sense otherwise Security+ / SSCP.

is a good way to go if you're looking for something vendor-neutral to start with. If you want to expand on your current knowledge, look at the
CCNA Security
certification, or possibly updating your MCSA to

, (if you're at the MCSA 2012 or 2016 level, that is.) I'd strongly recommend going for one of the two vendor-specific exams, in addition to a vendor-neutral test, since "security" isn't just another specialty to focus on but rather a natural extension of expertise on a specific platform.
