IPv6 autoconfig vs IPv6 eui-64 Commands

in CCNA & CCENT
I see that SLAAC is above it all but do "ipv6 [ipv6 address] eui-64" and ipv6 autoconfig both issue an ipv6 address using eui-64 but the first command is given 64 bit of an address so it does not have to come up with much.
