Hi Guys,
Passed 640 801 yesterday with 862.
I let my original cert expire so had to go from scratch again. Let me tell you the CCNA exam I did 5 years ago is like day and night from the current exam.
It is a great exam, and it is good to know that only people that really know there stuff will pass. It makes it much more valuable to have.
I failed at my first shot, I ran out of time and got 800. It was a valuable experience though as I knew what I had to do to have a chance of passing the second time round.
Tips for the exam - just know you're stuff on every topic that is covered. There are no shortcuts, that's what makes it sweet to pass. Expect a question on anything. Importantly try not to stress out. Throughout the exam I felt like the clock was beating me down - but you just have to put it out your mind and do your best.
For study I used Cisco press Intro and ICND book - as well as the Sybex CCNA fast pass which was a good compliment to the cisco press books.
Good luck to everyone with their studies. Just remember it's only a cert at the end of the day, no one on your death bed will remember you for being a CCNA (at least i hope not)!! Keep perspective about it, and just go out an nail it - cos it's a good feeling to pass. Even if you fail - you have learned something for next time and try and be positive about it.
If anyone has any questions about any of my experience I am happy to field them.
Good Luck.
