Good call, Black Hat is fun but i'd take SANS training in a flat second before the conference.

Friend and Roommate are going, I couldn't afford it this year with all the other commitments and we have a non-existent training budget to allow for such things.

I was there last year, the training they offered was good, but I felt the actual conference was a waste of money. $2,000 bucks for a few days of presentations and a huge vendor area. I felt it was a waste of my employers dollars and told management the same. It was a neat experience, but not worth repeating. I rather use the money on more productive conference and training. I can get just as much value out of a few Bsides events for a hell of lot less $.
