What is slot number? And arent port numbers like 23, 53 and so on?

it has to do with hardware addressing. port numbers can be quite large for switches. but they do start at 1 and increment up untill you reach the max for that piece of equipment. for routers they do start at 0 and increment up. and routers usually don't have that many ports. So, 1 could be as high as it goes for that model of equipment.

The F(Fast Ethernet) and the 0(slot number where the port is located in the router/switch) and the 1 is the ethernet port number on the slot. Ports 22, 53 are ports assigned to protocols, not physical ports on Cisco devices. There are switches that have large numbers of FastEthernet ports though.

Cisco has a free packet tracer application. Or if you have access to any IOS images you can use GNS3. There are free videos on you tube explaining how to set up and use both.
