Does anyone have any recommendations for a baby monitor that has Wi-Fi features?

I would imagine with all those IOT devices, if you change the default gateway on the device/ don't let your router give it one through DHCP then it won't be able to leave your LAN.

I want to access it from outside, not inside only.

I thought you were asking from a security perspective. I'm not familiar with baby monitors, but I would still do what I suggested and just VPN in to your LAN.
