N+ and S+

Should I study both at the same time or one at a time? I would like to get both of them done by the end of the year if possible.

Definitely study them one at a time. Start with the Net+ and review A+ material because it's been known to randomly show up on tests.

When you finish Net+, you can start Sec+. When studying for Sec+, review Net+ material.

CompTia builds their tests on top of each other.

I would study them one at a time. Just my 2 cent. Good luck

There is so much overlap that you should focus mostly on the Net+ first and then the Security+ is like 60-70% Net+.

I have a tendency to dig a little deeper into topics than the exam requires so that may be part of it but the Security+ was WAY easier after diving deep into the Net+.
Currently enrolling into WGU's IT - Security Program. Working on LPIC (1,2,3) and CCNA (and S) as long term goals and preparing for the Security+ and A+ as short term goals.

I will concentrate on N+ while also doing ITIL. I can afford about 4 hours a day. Should be a well productive fall :)

Concur with everyone else. I've also noticed the huge overlap in material, which is definitely a good thing. The Network+ Exam Cram book I'm studying now carries over a good amount from the A+ such as troubleshooting techniques, cables/connectors, and ports/services. And from skimming my Security+ book that one seems to carry over a good amount from the Network+ content.
