Offline a Server 2003 Disk
tstrip007
I am preparing to move my primary storage infrastructure to a Nimble all flash array, and I cant wait. However, I have several servers that have inguest iscsi mappings and I want them all on vmfs datastores so I can storage vmotion. I have been offlining disks, removing the target, unpresenting from server and presenting to host, then adding them as virtual mode rdms', then storage vmotioing.
This has been working great except last night as I was preparing to move a drive, I ran into one of only a few server 2003 vm's with an in guest mapping. Server 2003 does not have a "offline" option when right clicking the drive in drive mgt. I looked for offline options with DISKPART but there is no offline option, there is a "remove" option and "delete" of course. I am assuming that if I remove or delete, it will be fine but I want to make sure and google hasnt been much help.
Wondering if anyone has run into this scenario and what is the right way to go. Thanks

Is it a cluster?

Is what a cluster? This is just a single RDM mapped to a lun inside server 03.

Ok this article seems to be the proper way to go with this scenario.
