Catalyst 2960 not booting

cisco 2960 Switch shows LED only in "syst" and Switch is not working. While Accessing it via console access , its shows "switch: ".

the switch probably couldn't find an ios image to boot.

so a "set" command. see if the BOOT variable is set to something.
do a flash_init, the a dir flash: to see if there is an ios installed.

I agree with clarson, sounds to me like someone has done a `erase flash:`

Perform a init_flash then dir flash: and tell me what you see?
