NX-OS / IOS encrypted password creation

Hello,


I'm creating a radius server and i need to define a key. Be security it should be encrypted. Which encryption method i would need to use? What is the best way ?


1) To generate encrypted password in some special website or generator and paste it to exec ?
2) To use enable key in clear text (key 0) and allow IOS to encrypt IT ?


What is the best practice ? Thanks.
