Rapid Spanning Tree Protocol - Cost question...
Freejole
Working through some examples and came across a question here....
If Switch A and Switch B are connected such that the the FASTETHERNET port on Switch A is connected to a GIGABIT ETHERNET port on Switch B, I would have to imagine that the cost for that link would default to the lower bandwidth of the fastethernet port and the link would be advertised as a cost of 19 to RSTP for port selection right?
Thanks!

Yep, the speed used for cost is the "actual" operating speed of the link and not the maximum capable speed of the port.

Pay attention that we refer to the cost of an interface (port cost) and the cost of a switching path (root path cost). Saying "cost of a link" is misleading I think.
