MCSE 2012: Server Infrastructure Certificated Lapsed / Expired

Hello IT Gurus and SMEs,

My MCSE 2012: Server Infrastructure Certificated Lapsed / Expired. I am looking over the Microsoft certification planner and I am so confused as it states I will need to take 8 exams to recertify to the server infrastructure Platform and Cloud???? That cant be right. I am so confused as there is no clear upgrade information on the web.

So here are the questions swirling in my head?

is there a MCSE Server Infrastructure for 2016?
is there an upgrade path with an expired MCSE?
Was Server Inf. replaced by the Inf. Platform and Cloud?
Is there a shortcut/upgrade path for an expired MCSE 2016 to Platform Cloud MCSE 2016?

I think I have an active MCSA 2016 (apparently this doesn't go inactive..thanks but no thanks Microsoft). can I use this to update to the MSCE 2016 Server Inf. or Platform Cloud MCSE 2016?

Can my CISSP or VCP count towards credit for any of these certifications ??? (I know I am reaching but I think I will quit if I have to take 8 exams)

Here is a a current list of my **active** certifications based on my transcript

***Microsoft® Specialist Certification:****
-Windows 7, Configuring

***Microsoft® Certified Solutions Expert***
-Server Infrastructure (Inactive)

**Microsoft® Certified Solutions Associate:**

You only need 1 exam to upgrade to MCSE Cloud Platform & Infrastructure. You can take 70-413 or 70-414 or several others.

Like Westech said: Pick one of the eight exams. Once you passed that, you are a MCSE again.

Thank you all for your response. I have decided to first take 70-743 to get my MCSA 2016. Then I will take an additional exam to get my MCSE CLoud & PI. However before I do this my question now is do I automatically get the MCSA 2016 if I take 1 exam to get MCSE Cloud Platform & Infrastructure.

My reasoning why this is important is because Microsoft have changed the requirements so drastically between MCITP 2008/MCSE2012/ MCSE 2016 and I just want to keep my options open for future minimum upgrades paths. I dont want to pass up being an MCSA 2016 if microsoft changes their requirements once again for the next iteration of Windows server. Being a Federal IT contractor where I am required to keep my certs active/current this is very important.
