How do you study, what's your preferred method?

I'm ready to embark on some new material and before I take a swing at it I want to get some input on studying styles. I recently took a test and it had me down 50% visual and 40% tactile. Only 10% auditory. I take these "exams" with a grain of salt but still think they can be useful.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated.

Being dyslexic, I enjoy actually doing labs (so, that makes me visual...) and I also write a lot of notes..
