deleting a folder

I am trying to delete a folder from my external hard drive and I get an error that says this folder is being used by a different program and can't be deleted. How do I get rid of it?

Thanks

try rebooting into safe mode and try deleting

create a batch file that will delete the file/folder and create a scheduled task to run that batch file when the system starts.

Start in safe mode as previously said and delete it. This will work as long as the process doesn't load in Safe Mode.

Stop the process that is using the File/Folder and then delete it.

What process is using the file/folder? Are you certain you need to delete it?

You may find that your external hard drive may not be accessible in safe mode... USB drive?

Find out what program is accessing the drive/folder...
