How to remove a domain you cant find?
I have been given a task to find out how to remove a domain that keeps appearing on our network. I dont have too much information at present, but I was just curious as to whether anybody has come across a problem like this.
The domain seems to be gone form active directory, but at the login screen the drop down bar still seems to have the old domain there, even though it seems not to exist in active directory anymore.
I was wondering if and how you can totally remove this domain from the network. Its not a concern at all, but its just something that is annoying and would prefer to know the possible reason for it.

albanga Member Posts: 164I spoke to the systems admin, and he believes that the domain is not at all visible in active directory, or when looking through my network places. It just seems as though it appears only in drop down boxes when looking to select a domain.
I find this to be quiet strange is all. And would doing what you suggested in the article fix this problem without damaing the main domain within active directory? -

Also check in case WINS is installed on your network, in case yes, you might need to jetpack the database, or remove the invalid domain records from there. There is NoThing that is EveryThing! Prove me Wrong........
