WGU Sys Admin and Cloud vs Network and Security

So I regularly listen to the Packet Pushers and Security Now podcast and something I've been hearing a lot a lot lately is Cisco's rolling out of SDN protocols, automation and intelligent networks.
Here is the new program:
https://www.wgu.edu/online-it-degrees/systems-cloud-administration-bachelors-program
Here is the program I am currently finishing up for the first semester of:
https://www.wgu.edu/wgu/credit/program522
So what I'm wondering is where should I put my effort? I am currently labbing in packet tracer and developing Python skills which I will continue to do regardless but I just feel like the space for networking professionals is going to narrow in scope in the near future.
Any advice?
