Ideally we'll want to be well versed with Linux and Cloud but I'm not sure if it matters what order. Personally for me, learning about Cloud infrastructure is easier for me to grasp and implement out of the gate. I plan on deep diving more into Linux and even DevOps tools like Chef/Puppet along the way. Also either AWS or Azure cert is worthwhile, I've had recruiters reach out to me about using either of those two vendors. From what colleagues told me they both essentially provide the same services, just different names and ways of implementing it. Hope this helps.
