Color Blindness

Does anyone have any tips for dealing with color blindness?
Although basics like Network+ weren't an issue for me (even the cable wiring part, which I put in extra work on) I fear that if I were in the field, similarities (to my eyes) between some shades of red and green could get me in trouble.
Currently I work on Linux and Unix systems, and mostly from bash so I don't ever have this issue. But I'd really like to get my butt out of the chair and into the field. There's been posting for System Integration positions before that I really wanted to apply for, but couldn't as they clearly stated you cannot have any color blindness in that position.
Anyone have any tips / tricks for dealing with this?
