Document Version Control
CompuTron99
Hello,
I have a client that wants to automate some document control.
They have a directory on the file server that stores .PDF versions of schematics. At the moment, someone manually renames a PDF (i.e. schematic.pdf to schematic_revA.pdf) and moves to an "old_revisions" folder, then copies the newest version to the original folder with the original name. The original name is used because that file is a link on the company intranet.
Does anyone have an idea on how to automate this?
Thanks.

Maybe SharePoint either on-prem or O365?

The company I work for has a cloud based solution that is ITAR compliant and among other things it does versioning. Each time a document is checked in, the application logs who checked the document in and it is given a new version number. If you want more info, please PM me.
