I recently read the Cisco press book for CCNA Cyberops SECFND 210-250. I'm self studying. I went over the exam objectives and are somewhat perplexed with the following Objectives:

1.0 Network Concepts [12%]:
1.6 Describe IP subnets and communication within an IP subnet and between IP subnets
1.7 Describe the relationship between VLANs and data visibility
1.8 Describe the operation of ACLs applied as packet filters on the interfaces of network devices*
1.12 Identify potential data loss from provided traffic profiles

I have an additional question, The Cisco Press Book SECFND 210-250 is that a legitimate source? Considering the exam objectives are taking me to white papers on security topics discussed within the book?

Cisco exams will contain third party information from these whitepapers?

Yes, you may have to know things outside the book, if that's what the requirements suggest.

The book contains a lot of the material but you have to study more than just the book. I liked the book but wished I knew it was on the Safari books online subscription before getting it.

I just did the SECOPS and I wished I had studied more the following:
    2.1 Interpret basic regular expressions

2.5 Extract files from a TCP stream when given a PCAP file and Wireshark
    NIST SP800-61 r2
    NIST SP800-86

5.5 Apply the VERIS schema categories to a given incident

Still passed but not by a lot.
