Are people in IT afraid to say "I don't know"?

I'm curious about other people's takes on this. From what I've seen, it seems like people are often afraid to ask questions (fear of a RTFM reply?) or admit they don't know something, whether it be terminology or process. Also, as an extension, do you feel it's sometimes necessary in IT to put on a front that you know what…
