IT entry level type of work details........

I have never worked in the IT field..... I have worked with computers since the year 2000 and have done a range of computer stuff from repair, web design, troubleshooting, upgrading, system configuration, ETC. but, I have never pursued certs or schooling.....

Currently, I am looking to begin pursuing the A+ cert and hope I can eventually pass it, if not done the first time......

Seeing as that all my computer experience is basically home based, I was curious about what exactly a person would be doing when working in the IT field as some sort of entry level/"senior led" newbie who has no office/company experience???????

What are the things that they will be doing, working on, to what degree, how knowledgeable should you be, ETC.?????

Just curious because I want to study for and pass the A+ exams but, at the same time, I also want to sort put some focus into studying a "target area" of info about what is done as an entry level IT tech......
