RHSCA: Sharing folders to VMware - CentOS 7

pretty simple, I have been trying to access a folder on my PC for 2 days and it really isn't working, here is a list of what I've done

changed permissions on the folder in Windows and made it shareable to everyone

under options in workstation I added the files I want to share with Cent

in Cent I updated the kernel with yum and tried reinstalling VMware tools but I'm struggling with that as well however VMware tools has been installed

/mnt/?

hfgs file (whatever it is) is still not showing. halp please
