Cert Renewals
I looked in the FAQ about this and couldn't really come up with an answer but:
Do CPEs expire?
I got certified in GCIH in March. I just came back from another SANs course and they gave me 36x3 CPEs which will fulfill my cert renewal, but the GCIH is pretty much fresh off the press, so to speak.
Can I hoard the CPEs until it's about to expire and then use them for it? (3.5 years from now)

For example, in my GIAC profile I have applied full credit requirements (36) to two of my certifications but they have maintained their original expiration date. I know other vendors like CompTIA have had weird situations where you apply the credits and it automatically renews the certifications, but GIAC seems to work as expected.
2020: GCIP | GCIA
2021: GRID | GDSA | Pentest+
2022: GMON | GDAT
2023: GREM | GSE | GCFA
WGU BS IT-NA | SANS Grad Cert: PT&EH | SANS Grad Cert: ICS Security | SANS Grad Cert: Cyber Defense Ops | SANS Grad Cert: Incident Response
I also see it says 36x3. Does this mean I can apply these credits to 3 certs for a full renewal of each cert?
Silly questions I know
Sweet deal, ty everyone!
Review that website as it lays out the renewal process, but yes you can apply the credits to three certifications.
Oh nice ty! I appreciate that
