Anyone familiar with Ptrace?

Ptrace security's Advanced Software Exploitation course sounds like a solid contender/follow up to OSCE based on the syllabus. I like the more modern systems and techniques listed.

My issue is that I've never heard of them and I'd hate to shell out for a sub-par course.
