I was watching a Larry Greenblatt video and this question came up which I can't understand:
Which of the following alternate sites would be the best option for an organization with proprietary equipment?
A) Cold Site
Warm Site
C) Hot Site
D) Mirrored Site

The answer is B according to Larry as the question does NOT say there is a need to get back and running quickly.
I disagree though.
I thought the answer was D because:
- It is the best .. that is what the question asked. The BEST option, the top one, the most expensive
- Cost doesn't matter, it hasn't said about that
- They are using proprietary equipment meaning they probably need to have specialised equipment all set up or at least available in another site
Any one else disagree or agree here?My Aims

A hot site will be a fully functional mirror image of the operational site that runs concurrently so all data is saved to both sites and all equipment is identical. We have to assume that there was extra proprietary equipment available to build a mirror image of the operational site. This is the most expensive type of backup site.A warm site might be viable if the proprietary equipment is already in place. However, the time to bring the site online will be substantially longer since the hot site is a functioning mirror of the operational site. Most of the systems will be in place but the network/systems will have to be rebuilt from backups.Cold site is a definite NO because the site lacks the equipment and it would most likely be difficult to source it on short notice. The cold site will provide the required space, desk, chairs and maybe HVAC/Power but will not have any of the necessary systems in place. Least expensive type of backup site but it also has the least amount of assurance and the lengthiest amount of recovery time.Note: Mirror Site was a bit of trickery!!
