VMware essentials version for home lab?
The essentials version looks like it is reasonably priced and allows 3 hosts but I don't know if it will provide enough value over the free version. The main differenct I see is you would get vcenter essentials version.
I was also looking at the VMUG Advantage membership which says you get a 365day enterprise license for home use. This seems like a better option but I want a lab I can continue to use for several years. I don't know if the trial is extendable in any way.
I would appreciate any tips for home labs.

When I renew VMUG Advantage, do I continue to use the same license keys?
Upon renewing your VMUG Advantage subscription, we will provide you with a new set of license keys that you can order through the Kivuto product store. There is no need to tear down your lab or re-download the product unless you are upgrading to the next version.
