Anyone here have Sharepoint recovery experience?
I had an old Sharepoint services 3.0 server die on me after a network admin left the company. The problem I ran into was he didn't do Sharepoint backups and only backed up the SQL Databases associated with it. I have all of the .mdf and .ldf Sql Database files but no way to recover any of the documents off of it. I am trying to install server 2008 on an old pc right now to see if I can get the site back up and running to recover all the documents. Anyone know of other ways to go about this or maybe an easier way to just get the Excel, Word, PDF files etc off these databases?

All i need to get is the documents that were uploaded to the site before it crashed. I have come to learn that Sharepoint is a beast in itself.
