PC509 Member Posts: 804 ■■■■■■□□□□Are you going to take both anyone? Then, maybe. The Sec+ is a great foundation for security concepts. Will it help you with the eJPT? Not a whole lot, if at all. You'll understand some of the terminology and things, but it's definitely not necessary. If you're going to take one or the other, there really is no reason to take the Sec+ before the eJPT. They're both excellent entry level certs, but have completely different goals. You won't be at any disadvantage if you do the eJPT first or skip the Sec+.
They really don't build on each other like some others do. They can easily stand alone and have barely any overlap.
