Hi All,

Who can authoritatively tell me if (70-293 + 70-294) = 70-296, as part of the requirements to get an MCSE 2003???

If you are currently an MCSE on 2000, you can take 292 and 296 to be upgraded to MCSE 2003.

If you're an MCSE on 2000 you can take 292 alone and be upgraded to MCSA 2003.

If you're an MCSE on 2000 you can take 290, 291, 293 and 294 to be upgraded to MCSE 2003

If you're an MCSE 2000, you can take 290 and 291 to be upgraded to MCSA 2003.

Exams 292 and 296 are only applicable if you are already and MCSE on 2000. In other words, if you are not already and MCSE on 2000, 292 and 296 will do you no good. Also, if you're not already MCSE on 2000, 290, 291, 293 and 294 alone will NOT make you an MCSE on 2003. You will have to meet elective and design requirements if you're not already MCSE 2000.

The point is the prove compentency in the core networking areas in 2003. You are not required to take the design exams if you're upgrading, as design requirements and theory has not changed relatively speaking.
