Data Privacy certifications and knowledge?

Are you aware of any Data Privacy certification that's worth pursuing?
I know of CIPP/E , but is there anything else?
Do you have any experience with CIPP/E or CIPM?
Also, certifications aside, have you done any work around 'data privacy' ? any good source of knowledge or training that you recommend?
I want to get my hands dirty in this area, and I will get myself involved in some work as members of my team do this type of work so I'll join in, but curious to hear thoughts and wisdom from forum members

Infosec_Sam Admin Posts: 527 AdminSo I haven't done a ton of work in the privacy field, but I've always had a bit of a curiosity around it. We've got a couple pieces of privacy-related content over in our resource center, if you're interested in taking a look! Some of it is CCPA stuff so it probably wouldn't relate to you, but we do have a couple of podcast episodes and a whitepaper you might be interested in! Let me know what you think!

If you intend to sit for the CIPP/E, I would strongly suggest you use European Data Protection Law and Practice by Eduardo Ustaran as your primary study material. If you read the book twice, carefully, and once just before the exam, you should be able to clear the exam. Apart from this, there are many useful videos out there that give you a lowdown of the basics of privacy, GDPR, and so forth.
I have heard of a few courses from Maastricht University in the field of data privacy, but honestly nothing else in the market that commands as much acceptance and demand as the IAPP certifications.
Good luck!
