Hi, new to Sans and will be attending the Sec511 course next week.  Any books you guys could recommend or material I could use to prep. If anyone has a spare practice test I would appreciate as well. Would like to do some practice before course and Gmon exam.  Greatly appreciate it!

You won't need any books other than the ones that SANS provides you.  As far as the practice tests go they are used after you spend some time studying.  The practice tests are a gauge of how well you know the material after studying.  They are helpful to determine when you are ready t take the certification exam.

As the other poster said, you only need what the course gives you.

For preparation, check the course page under Prerequisites. In this case:
    • Basic understanding of network protocols and devices
    • Experience with Linux and Windows from the command line
Beyond that, make sure your laptop that you bring along meets the specs.

OSCP, GCFA, GWAPT, CISSP, OSWP, AWS SA-A, AWS Security, Sec+, Linux+, CCNA Cyber Ops, CCSK
2021 goals: maybe AWAE or SLAE, bunch o' courses and red team labs?

@Danny411 Just remember to make your index and make it easier for yourself You may have to run the labs a few times as well.
