Hi guys,
I am a Linux systems admin and have my toes in architecture and cybersecurity. I would like to grow my career and get into contract work or start my own business but I am not sure where to focus. I just got my AWS sysops and was thinking about pursuing solutions architect but I am not sure that more certs is the way to go at the moment. I am looking more at what technologies will help me move forward and get me constant work.
Currently looking at :
Kubernetes and docker
building systems with S3 and CDN's
starting my own managed service provider
If anyone is in a similar spot or has some experience, please advise.
All the Best!

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,090 AdminBase on what you are currently looking at, you will need to be a programmer, a Cloud (AWS) architect, and a businessman. Have you considered getting a job in a Cloud-based MSSP to see how such a thing runs for real?

UrbanBob Member Posts: 34 ■■■□□□□□□□I already work for a cloud provider and manage thousands of servers running KVM based instances. Moving forward shouldn't be too difficult, I'm just not sure in which direction to go.Currently thinking, that if I can get in to consulting, that may be the best middle road as I have no idea how to run a business.
