Cisco 7970 phone no power

Hey all

i got my hands ona 7970 , problem is it comes with no power supply. I tried to use a patch cable from my POE switch - i have 2 x mikrotik POE swtiches/routers.

Still the 7970 didnt budge - no lights anywhere to be seen on it - front panel remains blank.

I tried a couple of low power adaptors for other devices i have an still no joy -

Main questions:
1 - I dont see an on/off button i presume once power is supplied it just turns on.
2 - Anyone had similar issue using a non cisco device as a POE supply to this model of phone.

Any advice welcome

I can buy a power supply for 20euro or so - but i kinda would like to know if this phone is a brick first

It will power on when connected to a Cisco POE Switch.

So i need a POE cisco switch and only a POE cisco switch ? seems a bit or a bad design (or good from cisco perspective) . But thank you for the link much appreciated. I will order a power supply online and see will that work
