Security+ SY0-601 to be released November 2020

Here's some info on the 6th generation release of the Security+ cert:

• SY0-601 will become available mid-November 2020.
• SY0-501 will be retired July 31, 2021.
• Security+ exam voucher is valid for either SY0-501 or SY0-601.
• Security+ exam voucher cost remains the same (US$349) through end of 2020.
• Security+ exam voucher cost increases (US$359) on Jan 1, 2021. (Same cost as CySA+ and PenTest+ is now).
• SY0-601 focuses on core cybersecurity skills required by security and network administrators.
• SY0-601 emphasizes hands-on practical skills.
• Objectives added include cloud environments, entry-level incident response, GRC (Governance, Risk, and Compliance), and more threats.
• SY0-601 requires more application of administration and configuration skills and less analysis overall. (Security analysis is covered in CySA+).
