Failed 272 Exam
I scored 675/700 I have a feeling i failed by one or two questions possibly. I thought i was doing real good, what went wrong? Based on my Score report, the bars were full for every category, Configuring and Troubleshooting Connectivity for Applications, Resolving issues Related to Application Customization, COnfiguring and Troubleshooting Applications, and Configuring Application Security (was the easiest category IMO), however Resolving Issues Related to Usability i did very poory on, probably why i failed. So I know everything except for Resolving Issues Related to Usability, what the heck does that mean? And what do i need to study more to get a higher section score on Resolving Issues Related to Usablity? I know i'm almost there, for i did very good on every other section, too bad no more free retakes, i'll have to pay 125 dollars next time, not 60 dollars, b/c i'm not currently in a educational institue, i dont start college till fall, so taht really sux.

Have you bought the MS official book for MCDST 70-272?
I recommend it.
Here's the ISBN #0735622213 -
win2k8 Users Awaiting Email Confirmation Posts: 262I used Exam Cram 2 book for 272 Exam and Sybex MCDST Study Guide, they Sybex Study Guide was a piece of you know what, so i decided to get the Exam Cram 2 Book over the MS book, b/c one it was cheaper and second b/c i thought this is suppose to help you pass exam, but i didnt pass, i was short to pass, and the objective on Resolving Issues Related to Usability wasnt even in the damn book for god sakes! Anyhow i'm thinking i should exchange the exam cram 2 book in and get the MS press book, and pay the difference. I'm really pissed right now though, the second chance offer is over, and now i have to pay $125 dollars for every exam i take now on. And plus i havent paid for a single one of my exams starting from MCP to my last attempt for 272 Exam, b/c i was getting school vouchers + second chance offer, but now i'm graduated from highschool, and have to pay for exams, and not only that but i have to pay 125 dollars, not the 60 dollars that students get. So right now i'm wondering if its worth it to go on and risk wasting 125 dollars, or to wait till i'm in college starting this fall, and get to risk 60 dollars instead, but the material is fresh in my mind, what should i do, save money and take it right away or wait ? O and i'm looking for an entry level IT job too, but not getting MCDST isnt helping any in getting it, i do have a temp. job coming up for setting up computers from boxes and installing them for Sprint, get paid nice too, anyways i hope that little bit of experience can open some more doors for me even though i dont have MCDST yet, just passed 271 and 270.

mack2008 Member Posts: 4 ■□□□□□□□□□If I were in your situation, because the material is fresh in your mind, I would try one more time before college, if you get the MS book it should come with 15% off voucher (the UK version did anyway).
Get the book and then book the exam.
The exam is more in the UK, £88 is $163!
I mean, you have saved ALOT of money by using school vouchers and second chance offers in the past, you must have saved over $125 right.
I have just ordered the 70-271 books when I get that I will book the exam early next week for end of July.
So, get your MS book, then study in 4 weeks and then go for the exam. The only reason I give myself 4 weeks is that I study in the evenings.
Hope this helps. -

Sounds like some good advice from snanuwa (and a discounted voucher too!)
Although I did read some other articles (mostly just reviews), I only used the Sybex MCDST Study Guide to study for the exams, and passed both (271 w/ 885 and 272 w/ 91, so although I can't comment on other books, it was enough for me to pass on my first attempt and I wouldn't necessarily call it a piece of {crap}... then again I possibly could have passed both exams based on my experience with the products without reading the books, so you could still be correct.
I'm not sure how much simpathy you'll get with your complaints of the $125 test fee... now for failing a entry-level CompTIA exam... that might do it...
Search for vouchers and you can normally get the $125 wittled down a bit, and $60 is an incredible deal for students.
Best of luck on your retake!
