I need advice on choosing an ubuntu or windows server

A developer friend and I argued that the Ubuntu server would be more secure than the Windows server, however, I think that for simple websites without many complications such as Payment, shopping cart, etc., using Windows is enough.
My friend and I are developing a video download website, getclipfast. I think the current Windows server is relatively well-secured, am I wrong?

Security is mostly in the configuration. Either OS can be configured very poorly to allow either to be very insecure.
Also, do you want to pay money to license Windows Server or use something free like Ubuntu?

I can buy a Windows Server license, but I'm not sure if the costs and benefits are superior to unbutu or not?

Do you need customer service for running the server? Who has better service for enterprise customers: Microsoft or Ubuntu? You'll need to pay for customer service from either org.
Are you using an IaaS or PaaS solution or running the hardware yourself?
