Rar password retrieval

SieSie Member Posts: 1,195
I have a RAR file from a few months ago storing data etc that i didnt need at the time. Cleverly I password protected it and now I cant remember the password. icon_evil.gif

Anyone know of an application to retrieve this? Seen lots of shareware tools but as always something free would be better.

Thanks in advance for any ideas / suggestions.

Well, a shareware tool should be more than enough to crack the password on a file. I'm sure you don't have to pay to use them. Just get the content and move on.

The problem with shareware brute-force and dictionary password crackers is that they are throttled to run slowly, or to stop after performing a certain number of rounds. They must be registered to run at full capacity.

All of the good ZIP, RAR, and PDF password crackers that I know if are for-pay only.

JD is there a good all rounder that i should purchase and add to my 'tools', by this i mean an application that will do other file types rather than just rar or just excel or just access.

    Value for money after all!!

I don't have a personal recommendation for a specific password discovery tool. I would suggest Googling for reviews of such tools and trying the ones that are within your budget.
