rcoop Member Posts: 183Had a good friend marry an Aussie [Australian], and what I noticed when I'd go over to watch his PAL (vs NTSC) Australian Football games was this affinity for shortening every word and adding on an "ie"... that is except for mate [buddy].
A couple that I remember, are:
Tellie [Television or TV]
Sunnies [Sunglasses]
...and since I live in SoCal too... (although, some of these are starting to be very dated or very slang):
Buff [Muscular]
Ripped [Muscular]
Yah [Yes]
Totally [Yes, I really agree]
Sick [Hot -> Sweet -> Awesome -> Excellent -> Cool]
Bogus [Not Hot -> Sweet ...]
Dude [Buddy]
Chief [used in place because you can't remember someone's real name]
...too many to list, and these days I don't understand half of what is said in the office.Working on MCTS:SQL Server 2005 (70-431) & Server+ -

"Grammar and spelling aren't everything, but this is a forum, not a chat room. You have plenty of time to spell out the word "you", and look just a little bit smarter." by Phaideaux
***I'll add you can Capitalize the word 'I' to show a little respect for yourself too.
'i' before 'e' except after 'c'.... weird?
