SMS for server 2003
A few questions: kinda new using SMS
do I need to perform a dcpromo to an AD in order to get a client to receive packages from sms server?
if not how do I get my client to to see the server( the only way I can think of is joing it to an AD domain)?
next How do I extend the AD schema to allow SMS to work properly?
any other SMS ideas and implementations that youve used would be appreciated as well

Only a server (W2K/W2K3) can be promoted to DC. DCPromo is for promoting or demoting a server to/from DC from/to member server.
I believe the client should be joined to the domain for SMS to work optimally if SMS even works at all with standalone clients.
