Installing and configuring Exchange.
TechJunky
Can i install and configure exchange before I swap my DNS info to my local server? It is being out sourced right now and I want to make sure there is as little down time as possible.
I manage my own Unix based email/web servers so Exchange is fairly new to me.
Thanks.

Don't see why you couldn't configure it beforehand... just wont be getting any mail till something points to it

Correct. You can even set up your system so that Exchange is reachable for SMTP from the internet. The last step of course is advertising that it is to receive your mail by changing the MX record (well, really the A record that the MX uses).
