Is there any time limit between Hardware & OS exams?

i was wondering if it was a good idea to study and take the hardware exam, without knowing exactly when I will be able to take the OS exam. Because right after I take the Hardware exam, school starts and i don't think i'll have time study for the OS. Also, how will the possible change in the A+ exam soon affect my situation.
