Microsoft Makes Virtual PC Free
Microsoft has made its Virtual PC software free. This includes not only the current version, Virtual PC 2004, but the upcoming version for Vista, too. Now there is no reason not to set up that networking or hacking lab that you've been dreaming about--unless you haven't upgraded your hardware since 1999.

JDMurray Admin Posts: 13,101 AdminBefore installing any OS on to VPC2K4, check this link (http://vpc.visualwin.com/index.aspx) first to see if the OS will work with VPC and if it has any issues. I just wasted an hour trying to do a normal install of Ubuntu Linux 6.06 on to a VPC virtual hard drive. This listing says that Ubuntu 6.06 should only be installed in "Safe Graphics Mode." I wish that I'd known that an hour ago. Doh!
