Which commands do I need to know for the following 640-607 objective?

Bridging/Switching

-Verify the operation of the Spanning Tree Protocol on the switch

I know spantree protocol very well, but now need to find out how to actually put theory in practice. Any help would be appreciated.

the basic troubleshooting commands such as show spantree etc should suffice as its all that is mentioned in the cisco press book by wendell odom. I have trouble with the theory on this i get the root bridge part and non root brdge root port but designated bridge is where i get confused
