Hey guys,

Next week I move onto Semester 3, i see the first chapter deals with VSLMs. Im confident with subnetting, is there much to VSLMs? Is it difficult to calculate?

VLSM is just subnetting. Just remember that an IPv4 address is just a 32 bit number, and part of the number is used for the (classless) network and the rest is used for the hosts. Both parts together must add up to 32 bits.

    NAh, not @ all.
    It subnetting the subnet.
an' mostly used for WAN connects.
    For example /30.

I'm really good at subnetting, but honestly I am not that good with VLSM. I know what it does, but if you were to give me a question, I will have difficulty with it unless I use an example.

VLSM is simple. You can easily imagine it as "subneting of a subnet, and subnetting of that subnet...". So you will have subnets with different masks on you network.
If you know subnetting well, VLSM is like a piece of cake for you. Just beaware of overlapping (one subnet overlaps another)
