MCDST going to retire?
I heard they are going away with the MCDST on another forum site and going with a different certification setup to reduce the amount of test we have to take. I just bought this book great...

rockstar81 Member Posts: 151from my understanding the mcdst will fall under the MCITP certifcation, as will the mcsa, mcse ets, there should be upgrade routes once the new client and server products are released.

bighornsheep Member Posts: 1,506it depends on what you mean by 'retire' Microsoft has not and will not retire any more certification since 2000. Once you get MCDST, you will always be MCDST (unless in the event they revoke your certification, which wont happen unless you cheated).
All of the current certs, MCDST, MCSA, MCSE, MCDBA etc. will be replaced with the new generation of microsoft certification eventually. At that point, they will 'discontinue' MCDST and others, meaning you can't achieve that creditial anymore, but you are still certified and as rockstar says act as an path to upgrade for the new MCITP or perhaps MCTS.Jack of all trades, master of none
