AMD intends Acquire ATI

Did anyone hear about this.... i can't believe i call myself a techie and I failed to know about this. I wonder what will be major changes at ATI?
Well whatever they do i support them... GO AMD.. Show Intel what you're made of. icon_twisted.gif

    That's pretty old news. It came after Intel's intention to acquire Nvidia.

    I'm personally not that surprised, AMD's S939 and ATI's X200 chipset has been one of their most successful partnership.

    Yep this news is a few weeks old. Not only this, but AMD + ATI will be parteners with DELL!!! so in the next few years, expect DELL desktop computers to run AMD and ATI.

    So the 2 fronts have been made clear right now. Intel + Nvidia vs AMD + ATI

    Not quite the same while AMD was able to afford ATI and governments did not complain, the same can not be said for Intel. Instead Intel is hireing graphics engineers to do it inhouse. Today it was announced that Intel is giving up to 10 percent of its staff the old heave ho, which is about 10,000 workers mostly in marketing. New slogan - Intel outside. I guess the industry is not very forgiving of past mistakes.
