How many actual connections are made physically when a device is connected to one ring?

Kinda a network newbs here, correct me if I am wrong, but FDDI has a dual ring topology, so two. One to the first ring, one to the second ring.
(off to double check my notes, haha)

FDDI has one or two rings. The two rings kind of gives you redundancy because if one breaks then the other can still operate. Your server would be on the connection and the hub(s) that you would have connected to the cabling. The clients connect to the hubs, so they dont have a physical connection to the ring.
