Dumb question

Can you send a fax from a p.c using a cable modem ?
The built in microsoft fax won't see my modem therefore do I need to use fax to email type software.

You can not send analog faxes with your cable modem. But you can send "internet faxes" with the internet connection your cable modem provides.
