Im going through the CCNA ICND self study guid (great book by the way) and am mucking about with some frame-relay configs.
when you do point-to-point or even multipoint subinterfaces you need to use the frame-relay interface-dlci [dlci number] command. My question do you use the local DLCI or the remote DLCI in the command.
Because in the book it looks at thou the remote DLCI is being used, i got a bit confused because i know that the DLCI is only locallay significiant....
and when configuring frame-relay on a physical interfaci if your not using inverse arp you use the frame-relay map ip [remote IP][Local DLCI] command so yea im just a bit confused, why use the local DLCI on physical interfaces and the remote DLCI on subinterfaces.....
for anyone with this book check out the configs on page 410 and you will see what i mean..
